W. J. Smit is a young South African writer from Pretoria who has dedicated most of his life to literature, theatre, visual arts and education.

After working as a high school foreign language teacher for seven years, his experiences as once learner and now educator allowed him the unique insight required to publish his first novel, set in a South African high school that faces a crisis.
